Dear Daddy

Dear Daddy

A Poem by Poetry Girl
"

I rote this for my dad 'cause I decided to move out of his house to live with my mom. she screwed up the 1st time and now im giving her a second chance and I want him to understand

"
You probably feel I'm ungrateful
Because you've done so many things for me
But, honestly, I am thankful
Because you truly were there for me
No, you're not perfect
Yes, I have my flaws
I hope helping me was worth it
Life's not a game, I can't push pause
I know I can't rewind
I know I can't fast forward
I can't change time
I hope I'm taking a step forward
Leaving you is not easy
Actually, its pretty hard
I love you, you're my daddy
Even though you act like my body guard
You've done so much to get me back
And I feel bad for leaving
But, I promise I won't slack
If I do, you can give me a beating :)
I know you'll still be here for me
But I just need to add,
That I really love you
And you'll always be my dad

hmmmm... how to handle this... we have a young girl (no offense meant, in any way!), a seemingly tough relationship between writer and subject, and it's meant to be as sentimental/REAL as a Richard Gere movie (know who that is? no? nevermind lol).

my advice: please take this off the internet :( i've written a lot of letters and poems to people in apology, lord knows i've been where you've been. but this is secret, special stuff. you wrote this for your father, not for us. not for your mom, either. this isn't even for you, if i could say that! i have a method of writing these sad notes apologizing/making up/telling someone it's all right... write one copy, then get rid of it. let the owner keep it and take whatever sentiment they want.

okay. i ranted a little bit. sorry... but this whole poem is something that I can't tough. no one else, either. i want to say a few things about this and that which might help you as a writer, but... no. i can't touch this poem. it doesn't belong/wasn't written to me.

gonna check out I'm Lost

Oh I love this! So personal and deep. There's no relationship like a relation between parents and their child.

Such an emotional write you have penned here.
This is kind of sad really but well expressed.
