Always Enough

This is a poem that I wrote to show you that you always do enough, and that I'm sorry I ask the world of you at times. I love you.

There is one thing I always want you to know.
It is that I love you for everything you are,
And for every way you've helped me grow.

I know that at times, things aren't easy.
I can be a tough man to love,
I can be needy,
And I tend to clasp on like a purpose-built peavey.

But,
Always know,
I know how much you love me,
I know how much you care,
I love the way you show it,
Every shred of affection you share.

Everything you do, will always be enough.
Even when the times get hard,
And the going gets tough.

I know that you love me,
I know that you care,
I always know you're with me,
Even when you're not there.

Lately I haven't appreciated,
Just how much you do.
I'm sorry for that
I never meant to do that to you.

I won't justify my actions,
Because none of them were fair.
I was wrong for what I did,
Please know that I really do care.

I'm not going to expect the world of you,
Because you've already given me more.
You've given me your heart,
And your heart, I will forever adore.

Please believe me, when I tell you this,
I love you eternally,
And you give me everlasting bliss.

So,
Starting now, starting here,
I'm going to make a change.

I'm going to be a better man,
I'm going to treat you right.
I'm going to love you more,
I'll always be your might.

You are my sword,
My life,
And my shield,
I'll always wear them proudly,
And never will I yield.

Your words aren't empty,
They're all that you feel.
When you say "I love you,"
I know that it is real.

I'll never stop loving you,
For all that you are.
You complete me entirely,
Even from afar.

So now, I'll fall asleep tonight,
Full of your love,
And full of your light.

Sweet dreams are abound,
I will hold them very near,
I will cherish them deeply,
And smile ear to ear.

Thank you for loving me,
And know that I love you too,
I love all that you are,
And everything that you'll ever do.
