I've Found You!

I've Found You!

A Poem by Kristin Lee
"

Love is wonderful, powerful and can be painfully tragic

"

Darling, I’ve found you!

My soul delights in your smile

God how I prayed for you

To feel your arms surround me

And lay my head on your strong shoulder

The savage grind of life can’t find me, so long as I’m with you

Your touch melts stress like butter

Monstrous obstacles quake with fear in your shadow

To be with you set’s all past wrongs right

We counter one another, two halves to a whole

Even thought you hate that which dives too deep within the soul

But darling, don’t you see?

That makes you even more beautiful to me

I love your flawed, tragic logic

It makes you who you are

I’d rather tremble before you in anticipation

Of all the love you have to give

Than forever be denied the presence of your eternal mind

God how I prayed for you

The best friend I’ve ever known

I fear, to live a life without you now…

Would feel as if…

God had commanded me

To take my own

Just a careful notice, I have been inactive for a while and my critique skills require some sharping , thus I may not be understood very well..

The poem is written wonderfully, and has an overall solid background featuring love ones. I admire your flow, it is like a stream of water that goes on and on, touching the ground in a smooth way, and the sounds are carefully taken bit by bit with each breath.

From the start, the woman shows undeniable true love towards the man that she has found, as if she was looking for him for so long, but also as the poem goes she reveals her fears of him leaving . Carefully , the woman tries not to get the position in which she has to formally stand her ground; but the time has come, she has to say what she wants before he may even think of leaving. The fear that consists sometimes in any relation; the fear of one going away.

The poem also consists of brief prayers to god , to get some aid, because love and fear are so strong for one person to withstand all together.

Very good analysis. Thank you. Love can be so volitile that it feels like one needs to be saved. .. read more

My pleasure...:)
Love is so all encompassing; it is so easy to get lost in your beloved. This is a strong piece, and a thoughtful read.

This is a dark read Kirstin. This woman is so dependent upon this man and it feels like she does all the giving. He is more guarded and superficial yet she would kill herself if she lost him? Provocative piece that stimulates thought.
