Love binds families of every kind.

Fly on the wall,

Silently procuring

The most magnificent view

Crimson and gold;

Rhythmically beating

Love, equally redeeming

In this house

Chips will fall,

But Awe

Strikes us all.

I agree with, Jack. Love does make a house a home but so does the people who live there, right? I guess that could just be me but I loved it, hun. It was out standing! Short and to the point.

Ok I like the flow and pace of this piece and simply loved the opening three lines. My only problem with your theme is the ending as I doubt awe binds families. Think I might have said 'blood binds us all'?

Thank you. I'm glad you likes the first part, it was a reference to my introverstion and the unique perspective I get at family gatherings. But the last line isn't meant to be about binding. It was inspired by a particular moment that truly was filled with awe. I don't have a close family. We truly have to work at it to even be in the same room together most days. Yet on this day, as I looked up, I saw the most amazing thing...everyone had checked their baggage at the door. A mixed family, of all ages and every single person in the room was actually smiling. A genuine smile. The two biggest cynics in the room even looked at eachother and their smiles spread. It truly was a moment where Awe Struck everyone in perfect syncrhonicity. It was amazing. And the odds of it ever happening again are astronomical. Making it even more Amazing...awe inspiring. Does that make more sense? It was hard to convey in so few words.
