The Wild Wind

The Wild Wind

A Poem by NWC
"

A poem on a metaphorical wind that takes you out of the path you are on and puts you on an unknown different stream in life.

"

The wild wind blows with its own intentions,

Rage, wrath and retribution changing the

Direction of all in its path, foreverly lost

Only to be found later in peace after being

Thrown into chaos by the brute force of nature.

Its harsh, strong, hot and has the power to

Uproot trees along with the mountains they

Are on yet chilly, bone biting frost along with

The ability to freeze you in your tracks where

You travel and change your path forever.

This wind neither shows any regard for who

You are nor any sympathy for what you’ve been

Through in your past but only carelessly, blissfully

And heedlessly changes your future in an irreversible

Tide which comes when least expected.

No matter how strong you stand on your own feet,

No matter how brilliantly talented your mind is,

The wild wind picks you away when you really

Want to stay on the path you are on and throws

You onto a path which cruelly works wonders.

The more you want to stay where you are,

The more harsh will be where the winds

Throw you, so flexibility and a variety of skills,

Knowledge and interests help you enjoy where

The wild winds throw you into your new fate.
