Self Servitude

Self Servitude

A Poem by NWC
"

A poem on a selfish person who himself narrates how his life is as he serves only himself. A realistic tragedy portrayed in a fantasy like layout.

"

Beyond realm of mortals it lied,

The island of paradise where only the

Worthy are presented entrance forever;

There did I rule and will rule in service

Of none but me, not lonely in solitude

But peaceful and wrathful with

Judgmental eyes do I gloat and boast to

None as none care in this dolent plane;

Beyond fears and humanity do I serve

Myself with the fullest pleasure to heed my

Own words which keep procrastinating

As I sure am a merry hypocrite to help all

Except the one who really needed it like me;

Self servitude is a life filled with an ego

As big as a mountain high capped white

With none to climb it anytime but yourself;

Bliss comes from a mixture of fear and

Love which I lack out of the high ego

But still they rested beneath my skin in denial

Which didn’t allow them to come out at

All but emotions are important for any man

No matter how high he places himself as to

Rise above humanity one must first be human

Which I lacked deeply and got stuck on my

Island as there was no one else to serve in

This inhuman life with a high ego and pride.
