You Love Me

A poem about a relationship

I seem to fade in the face
Of your heartache
A simple smile held awake
In your eyes
I stand alone
On this long stretch of concrete
These desperate swings
With their moods held inside
Like a star
That we wrap in our blankets
It's light
That we selfishly hide
I'm broken pieces
Of your once smiling whisper
And you're my shout
That seems to wane with the tide
