Sorry: Part One

Sorry: Part One

A Poem by Lexi Richard

I let the words fall off my tongue
without a single thought
they leave my lips like April rain
but my brain's full of thunder claps

I have become so numb and cold
my eyes are dull as stones
my mind still runs like an athlete
but my mouth steals the gold

I wish I could unblock my throat
and let my voice run free
but I can't ever do that when
all I say is 'sorry'
