A Brighter Past

A Brighter Past

A Poem by Lexi Richard

I've ruined myself
trying to recreate myself
I have sacrificed so many things
such as the heat in my heart,
the glee in my voice,
and most of all - my sanity
I expected more
than what I contain now
I'd been hoping for wonderful things
such as more heat in my heart,
more glee in my voice,
and most of all - some sanity
-l.r.

So relatable, that what we wish for and what we get in the end was not worth all we give up. Wonderful piece!
