The Girl With the Purple Dress

The Girl With the Purple Dress

A Poem by Linear
"

Love is the Breath of Life

"

I thought I could write

but my pen had run out of ink

I thought I could see

but realised I was blind

I thought I coud hear soft sweet music

but only silence was around

I thought I knew love and all it's ways

but then I saw you

Heard you sing

and thats when I knew, I knew nothing at all

For no words ever spoken

could explain you

or describe you

No song ever sung

could ever tell the beauty of you

And no other eye

could see

what I behold each time  I gaze upon you

This makes me think of an old story… I don't mean a story I've read a while ago, but an aged one, if that makes sense. It's beautiful… I can almost see her, and I can certainly imagine someone sitting at a table with the lights down low writing this with a feather pen.

The poem is very beautiful. I like the detail and strong statements in the poem. I like the complete poem. The ending made the poem very strong. A outstanding poem. Thank you.

Oh and your always telling me that I have it bad.. looks like we suffer alike..
I love the last two verses..

No song ever sung, could ever tell the beauty of you
And no other eye could see, what I behold each time I gaze upon you..

So sweet a sentiment.. never spoken so true..

This is simply amazing. You managed to capture the most crucial moments. You realize you are surrounded by a silence louder than sound itself, you see only what lies infront of you. You thought so many things but truly knew nothing until she taught you; taught you what love is. Nothing will ever compare to the way you look at her. I honestly want to thank you for this piece of work. I shall forever adore it.
