Language is fascinating. Ever changing, evolving.
I wonder if emojis are setting us back a ways?
Like cavemen drawing on caves
Technology's influence on communication, that would be an interesting discussion.
Is it helping or hurting us. Probably both.

I think it's cyclical. Groundbreaking advancement's might be misused at first, maybe hurting a little more than helping, but over time I think we've been good as a species at adapting to change and making things eventually help us more than hurt us. But who really knows? Todays circumstances have never been observed in any form before... all these damn computers man, and artificial intelligence... consciousness is in the process of being completely redefined.

but don't we anymore? Communication is rampant. There's more of it than ever was before. Or are we on our way to being the Tower of Babel? All speaking in their own language, no one listening to anyone...?

No, I definitely meant it the why I wrote it. Language is a code, and we use it to describe our reality and become self aware. What kind of sense would it make to insinuate we aren't using language anymore? That would be a patently false statement ya crazy lady.

For some reason this all came from an old Viking story about a mythological gossiping messenger squirrel. I wish I was making that up.... Ratatoskr is pretty much exactly that according to the mythos. Norse mythology gets pretty f****n' weird sometimes.

Come on now, that squirrel is everyone's guilty pleasure. We wouldn't have such complex and nuanced language without gossip. That squirrel is a pretty good representation of the internet these days... damn it... I wish I thought of that while I was writing that stupid Viking squirrel poem. Eh, maybe next time.
