I've rated you 95/100 mainly due to the fact that 100/100 would be the best piece I've ever read. And I haven't read nearly enough to be able to rate this as my favorite. BEFORE I LOSE MY TRAIN OF THOUGHT, what had caught my attention were the lines

What was your interpretation of the day and night concept? Are they hiding in plain sight? With alterior motives, and tricks up their sleeves?

Tricks up their sleeves? Absolutely.

But they are not hiding. Most people are never really tested. Most people who are don't really perform. When you find someone who is steadfast and faithful regardless of the circumstance you hold onto that person. That is a skill you cannot really teach.

The unknown faces that lie beneath what good and bad can show the world yet disguises always strike an appeal to eyes that are steady attempting to get across strange lands without causing noise to certain types of people. I loved how powerful you wrote this piece I know you'd had a different meaning but loved every word. Neat idea to write about very original. Don't worry, we mostly all fall in between somewhere I think. I've only met a few people who fall sharply to one side or the other and they are usually completely mentally unbalanced. I have met a few who can do it all as well, they make the most excellent leaders.

I think, given the viciousness the internet culture can generate, that few people can always look good. Mother Teresa, maybe, but don't bet the farm on it.

It's not meant to mean people either look perfect or awful. But some people require certain circumstances to perform closer to their potential and some people don't. People who can perform to their potential under any set of circumstances are still not perfect but do almost always tend to be the best leaders. On a side note, don't live your life according to internet culture, that's not reality.

It reads very smoothly, you're really nailed the cadence and rhyme. The subject matter is just enigmatic enough to inspire thought. Echoing the "sun and the Moon" line with "daylight and night" really ties this thing up well.

Nothing so strange as people. They come in all sorts of shapes and sizes, some pleasant and some downright nasty. Most have a mixture of good and bad. Now Vera Lynn, was a good person, held in much admiration just like Sir Capt Tom who has been a beacon of light for us in the UK through covid. Some people have a natural shine, just as the sun does and the moon. You know I pondered on that old saying, one man's meat is another man's poison. None of us can please everyone all of the time. Some of us if we are lucky, will please a few as we pass through. Thanks for Vera, good to listen to. An enjoyable read.

That Vera Lynn song is definitely among my top 5 favorite songs of all time, regardless of whatever mood I'm in or what time of day it is or where I'm at in the world I'm always pleased to hear it. Johnny Cash does a nice version of it as well, not quite as good but still a great rendition. I have it on my profile page if you're interested.

You know, I am a fan of Johnny Cash, but have never heard his version, so will make a point of tuning in. That song is an all time classic. Means a hell of a lot to the older generations, reminding them of ww2. I also love the White Cliffs of Dover. What a contribution that woman made to the war effort and keeping the morale up of troops all over the world. Adored she was and iconic she is.

Some people only perform well under duress but don't do so well when things are easy. I used to be in the military a long time ago and saw this first hand. Some of them fall into one addiction or another or apathy or a perpetual state of underperformance after the hard parts are over. Most people fall somewhere in between, but a small percentage could adapt to any type of situation while maintaining an extremely high level of performance. Those were always the best leaders.

Word juggling here but i like the word play. When a person is not true to the core then he/ she changes with changing color... Though remains the same from within but the overtures changes. Only true to the core surpass anything and remains unaffected....
