Brevity is a word I have been hearing a lot in conversations. My muse took inspiration from this beautiful word creating this poem

"Yesterday's the past, tomorrow's the future, but today is a gift. That's why it's called the present." Bill keane

I remember yesterday, as if it were today.

Seconds pass to minutes, as moments slip away

A Sea that never changes, reflects its immortality

A heart that never loves; mirrors Incongruity

Captured shades of amber through sunsets in repose.

Impermanence viewed in shadows; as day comes to a close.

We breathe for but an instant; as time winds its way down

How many more will we take before its final sound?

Disavow all abnegation; to live without reproach.

Seize the moments of this life, live love at ends approach.

Become the sea...

In brevity.

'we are in time a mote of dust
a pin prick in an ocean sky'

Yes, we are fleeting in the overall picture of things. Might as well, make every minute count, we are a long time dead. I wrote on this theme myself.

Really like this poem Carlos. One of your best. Love those little bits of meaningful brevity.

Truly it is said that we are borne of the sea. Isn't that why we are inexorably drawn to it?

Adore this piece, we really forget how short life is and it's so easy to get so caught up with yesterday's problems. An important message, makes me want to go out and live today to its fullest!
Thank you for such an inspiring piece

we human do have a very short life span when compared to our world, our universe, and the cosmos.... and yet we have evolved consciousness and can not only contemplate our past, but can dream and make real our future.... so yes, seize the day, seize the hour, live life loudly with every breath.... be one of the waves in that ocean of time....

nicely written Carlos....

Days have felt awfully short, and not only because summer is drawing to an end, everything just feels too fast, there's hardly time to relax it feels. I love the feeling and the way you captured it in this piece, and I particularly liked the sort of thing you taught with it, gotta make the most of it while we have it!

'We breathe for but an instant; as time winds its way down, how many more will we take before its final sound?' I loved this bit and the hard-hitting questions throughout it. Thank you for sharing, have a wonderful day, and stay safe!
