Loving is a lot like the rainA Poem by louLoving is a lot like the rain Sometimes it’s slow, little by little and just enough to make you squirm Sometimes it’s heavy, there’s thunders and you couldn’t run away from it even if you tried Sometimes it’s calm and comforting and it makes you forget everything that made you sad in the first place Oh but sometimes it’s disastrous, takes apart everything and a little more Leaves you with nowhere to hide and nothing left of yourself
Other times the rain comes after a long long wait When the flowers and the plants have stopped growing pretty And the streets long to feel that sweet sweet pouring on it’s grounds And oh how amazing that type of rain feels Like everything you’ve Always wanted and never knew you needed
There are people who love the rain and people who hate it The people who hate it are mostly those who were hurt by it Or are scared of it Scared of how it’s intense and can fill up so many needs How can it feel and mean so much but at the same time It’s absolutely nothing by itself And those who love it may be crazy, because it’s impossible to wholeheartedly love something That can ruin your life
But when you love the rain, it’s sound and its smell You are home whenever you feel the wet raindrops on your face Or listen to the sound of the puddles on your feet To love the rain is to be safe and never scared It feels a lot like coming alive
And yet, there are times when all the rain does is wreck Wreck places and plants and lives But oh, the rain can’t be blamed It just does what it does © 2017 louAuthor's Note
