Day 57

I fear they have found my trail; at night I can hear their dogs barking in the distance.  Any day now I expect to be captured,  I should be moving instead of writing, but if I don't I fear I shall go insane.  I cannot think which is worse - Losing my mind while in relative freedom - slowly going insane while staying a head of my pursuers.  Or giving up all hope of being my own person, living my own life, because I am paying for my crimes though mentally sound.
Ah! No matter! for the present I am choosing the latter unpleasant though it may seem.  And in my hear of hearts I know, I must pay for my crimes; I must console the ones I have hurt even with my very life.  The guilt is overwhelming; I want to be caught, but my pride does not allow for surrender.  I will give them a chase they will not soon forget - though I cannot wait for it to end.
