Written with the deft help of my lovely 5- and 6-year-olds, on them and their sweet baby sister.

She skips across the playground

fairy light in her hair

A smile and a simple song

rose bud lips, she offers a kiss.

my angel,

my love.

He's rough and tumble ready

all dirt and scrapes and grins

wearing a hero cape with his teddy bear

night-light powers, he has no fear.

my darling,

my love.

she's fragile and new

wrapped in pink and tulle and dreams

perfect little hands held out

eyes shine, the perfect pout.
