Chapter 1

One Down

He kept a firm grip on her neck, choking her, forcing the life force out of her body. slowly, he moved his hand down to her heart, and rested it there. My eyes stared in fright, too afraid to stop him. then, without warning, he plunged his hand into her chest, and ripped her heart out. her eyes widened in pain and fear. her body fell limply to the ground, blood pouring out of the hole in her chest. blood spilled out of her mouth, the life draining from her bright pink eyes. weakly, she lifted her hand toward me, signaling for help. then, silence. her hand fell limply to the ground, her eyes open and empty. the man held her heart in his hand, the heart pouring blood. her pigtails were stained with her blood, giving them a sick glow. then, without hesitation, i scrambled to my feet and sprinted home, never to see Kitty smile again.
