Waiting For His Angel

Waiting For His Angel

A Poem by Luissanto
"

Written by Louis Saint Verges

"

Laying upon his bed

looking at the sky

asking God one question

The question being "why?"

with a knot in his throat

and as tears filled his eyes

he cries out silently

but no one, hears his cries

having family and friends

but wanting no one there

to see or feel his pain

wasn't something

he would share

so much left undone

so much left unsaid

nowhere else to run

for soon, he would be dead

His nurse was so gentle

and showed him so much love

he wondered if she was an angel

sent to prepare him

from up above

his time was coming now

yet he had no fear

This chapter would soon close

His angel drawing near

He closed his eyes once more

to rest in his eternal sleep

as his angel came upon him

for his soul to finally keep.

This poem is a real gem.Straight from the heart overflowing with unsaid feelings.A man in his deathbed selflessly breathes his last.He has many unanswered questions, unfulfilled dreams but as his time descends upon him he is carried away to his final resting place.Sans problem, sans worries. The poem flows smoothly from one line to other hooking the reader in.:)

Very beautifully done! The expressions here are clearly understood. I can feel your heart in this. I can hear where the message comes from and I can relate to each word, so carefully and skillfully conveyed.

Thank you for sharing such beautiful words...
This was so heartbreaking beautiful. The imagery and flow of this poem was incredible. You were so easily able to draw forth emotion from me, as sadness filled my heart for this man. A very well written poem this is! I admire your choice of words, so simply complex. Beautifully written.

Thank You so much for sharing such kind words...
I love your writing style...you have this way of making the saddest of stories somehow feel like a fairy tail just by the sway and flow of the words. I have thoughts that relate to the way this dying man felt...like detaching myself so that I may leave a smaller foot print on this earth...so that my loved ones will not be left to mourn me. A beautiful gesture of selflessness most people can not uphold. This poem is truly beautiful.

I would like to believe that the persona didn't want to die, but lacking the strength, he accepts death and waits for it. I link to this life and the pain we endure, but sometimes we should just let go, when we cant change our situations. Well written, I truly felt the sadness

Like this, this combines the standard rhymes of a quatrain in a running narrative, this works well, a good poem..
