Waiting For His Angel

Waiting For His Angel

A Poem by Luissanto
"

Written by Louis Saint Verges

"

Laying upon his bed

looking at the sky

asking God one question

The question being "why?"

with a knot in his throat

and as tears filled his eyes

he cries out silently

but no one, hears his cries

having family and friends

but wanting no one there

to see or feel his pain

wasn't something

he would share

so much left undone

so much left unsaid

nowhere else to run

for soon, he would be dead

His nurse was so gentle

and showed him so much love

he wondered if she was an angel

sent to prepare him

from up above

his time was coming now

yet he had no fear

This chapter would soon close

His angel drawing near

He closed his eyes once more

to rest in his eternal sleep

as his angel came upon him

for his soul to finally keep.

This poem is a real gem.Straight from the heart overflowing with unsaid feelings.A man in his deathbed selflessly breathes his last.He has many unanswered questions, unfulfilled dreams but as his time descends upon him he is carried away to his final resting place.Sans problem, sans worries. The poem flows smoothly from one line to other hooking the reader in.:)

There is sadness in your words...
but wanting no one there
to see or feel his pain
wasn't something
he would share
so much left undone...
and yet there is beauty as well... I believe in angels.
Your poem is lovely.

Thank You very much, your words honor me...
So emotive...this is beautifully surrendered and emotionally pulling. It would be nice to know we are not alone at death, still...I believe we are not :) Much enjoyed this piece x

Your kind and honest words touch my heart, Thank You
so much for sharing.
I think this is an assurance that death not be feared. I actually had a dream a couple of nights ago that I was dying and I wasn't at all afraid. It felt so wonderful to feel such peace in the face of death. This is a very comforting poem.

yes, you're very welcome!
Being a nurse this touched a special place in my heart.. I have been blessed to be a healing part in so many lives and to witness some amazing, heart warming miracles.. I get my share of tragedies in there, but these life-changing moments always stand out.. The flow of this was so light, like fluttering of angel wings leading me gently down to sleep.. The way in which you tell the story was mesmerizing and captivated my attention beautifully. The emotion?... it was tender at times, and others grabbed me and had me a little choked up.. It had such an exquisite bittersweet feel to it.. very lovely write indeed, my friend.. really enjoyed this..
