Somewhere Under the Rainbow

Somewhere Under the Rainbow

A Poem by Sophie

If life was a dream,

I would jump and dance

happy to be free,

free from reality.

Reality weighs a spirit down,

Reality is somewhere under the rainbow,

where Dorothy is still in black and white

and the witch's broom

is a lowly bicycle.

Wouldn't you rather a dream world

made of colors and light?

If life as I know it now was a dream,

and I were to suddenly wake up,

into a world worse than this,

where the witch defeats me,

and Uncle Henry beats me,

Maybe I'll want to sleep,

but now I can't decide,

the unknown?

Or this dream?
