Silent Battle

Silent Battle

A Poem by magicwhisper

"Just call them"

Mouth goes dry,
My words they stutter,
Breathing goes erratic,
My forehead slick with sweat,
My fingers they start to tap,
My stomach is churning,
My head is pounding.
I try not to cry.

" Don't be anti social"

My mind in overdrive,
Thoughts created, visions seen,
Of disaster, what ifs, but what now,
Shocked into my brain, piercing my thoughts, over run my head
Calm and clear pushed aside when fight or flight attack.
FIGHT, FIGHT, FIGHT ITS NOT TRUE
But the black clouds take over, the fog descends, the more you fight the more it makes you scream.

"Just stop worrying its fine you are being stupid"

"why are you always tired? "

Every day, every hour, every minute,
A battle its raging, a war
Non stopping it, no rest, not even a break,
Stabbing, slashing, attacking,
The army is swarming
The poison slowly working.

"oh I dunno I'm just busy"

The scars are everywhere,
The rules are set,
Fear is apon you
A prisoner!
A war!
All invisible, no one else knows, no one else sees the barriers in place, the brick walls, how your hands are tied, your mouth sown up
Nothing is more draining than a battle of your mind, constantly at war.
And all you want is peace
