I am enough

I am enough

A Poem by Marissa
"

this is about how i was with my other family as i like to call them and i started crying over something that had happened and the woman is like my other mom...i think its explanitory from there on out

"

You try to calm me,

As the tears roll down my face.

All I ever wanted was to be good enough,

It's just not as simple as you think.

I'm sorry for crying,

Is all I could say to you.

I try to fight back the tears,

But they just get worse.

I love you more and more everyday-

For loving me.

I used to pray that I'd make my mom proud,

Instead God blessed me with you.

I may not be enough for my real mom,

But I'm more than enough for you...the woman I like to call mommy.

thank you! And I'm sorry that you can relate.
wow, this was so full of emotion...i love it. and remember, just because someone is your biological mom, it doesnt make them your mom. your mom is the person who cares for you and loves you no matter what. they also never judge you. great job, this was very touching and so well written :P

oh okay, i understand. your welcome! :P
I love the sentiment in this, what it says. My Mother-in-law was recently diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, and she is getting pretty bad. I feel as close (Maybe more) to her as I do my own mother. She's a special person in every regard. I feel your pain...
Beautifully done.

Very poignant. Again, your last stanza rings with finality. Quite enjoyable. This piece settled into your rhythm right away--your rhythm which you designate with couplets. I've only read three pieces so far, but you seem to fancy writing in couplets, and it suits your pieces. Nicely penned.

The best of luck,
Savannah

thank you i think (:
I appreciate your sense of gratitude to your other mom.
Your other mom must be adored for her affection and care to you.
Your biological mom will understand her role now and may recognize the role of your other mom.
Great write.

You are always welcome.
A very good poem. I was raise by a stepmother who took care of me and had a home for me. I called her mother. The word mother is the word of love for us lucky people. Thank you for the excellent poem.
