CAROUSEL SONG

My life goes ever and ever on

Like a Carousel’s song

Without rhyme

And all of the manners of love that I’ve tried

Leave me unsatisfied

Every time

So can anyone tell me

Just how can a fella

In love with all women

Make just one love him back?

With serenades tinny?

Or compliments many?

On dry land I swim,

With no plan of attack!

If you too have tried this

and come up confused

And each method you’ve used

Failed each time

Then perhaps your life, too

goes forever on

Like a Carousel’s song,

Without rhyme!

Mark, if anyone knew an absolute way of answering your question, they would be rich beyond measure... and not in just money. I still start with respect and caring.
Great poem, sir.

Thank you again, Michael. This poem surprised me, in that it does not have a date; it is over thirty.. read more

Like a fine wine, or a good love, it has aged well, my friend.

I would not be telling you true if I said,
You're standing alone there
Awaiting relief.

You've chosen conveyance that's every man's ride.
Move over I'm coming
I've brought my own grief.
