This is a previous version of A moment caught in words..

Sometimes we just need to know that people care
That someone remembers
That we are still there
Still here
Now and then we just need someone to reach out
For our heart
We need someone to listen  for the rhythm
Inside of us
And see if the beat is off
So they can hold our hand and put us back
In the rhythm of life
I just want to ask one thing of you
Please don't forget those who are lost
The ones who drift by and forget to smile
Reach for their hearts
Break down the wall they've built
And catch them when they fall
Catch them when they fall.

Sometimes when we are falling we try and take our eyes off of ourselves. We don't want to face what is headed our way so we look to someone else. We look, not for help, but for distraction. We are already falling so we try and find something we can fall in love with, to ignore that we're falling apart. We want to see someone elses life and we don't care if it's better or worse than ours. We just want to watch someone. We want to see where they step next, we want to see if they fall too. We are experts at forgetting ourselves when it comes to someone elses busy life. We can let go of all our problems and flaws only to point them out in someone else. When we're pointing the finger not only does everyone else look at the distraction, but we too are distracted from ourselves.

I see you there, up so high
You have it all figured out
So I'm watching you
Waiting for you to fall
Waiting for you to break
Nobody is as perfect as you
Nobody...
But you smile and you laugh
You have what I'm looking for
I've lost what mattered most
Stuck with the leftovers of my past
I'd do anything
To forget
So I'm watching you.
Waiting for you to fall
Waiting for you to break
But you don't
I'm watching you
You who stares back
In the cracked mirror
My reflection...
I'm watching you
Waiting for you to fall
Waiting for you to break.
