this is about oppression and rising up to the challenges in life

we

were the cracked and the broken

we

had our hope stolen

we

were afraid, voices left unspoken

and then

we

had our reckoning

we

were the ones beckoning

we are

the oppressed

we are

the depressed

we

forcefully request

all of that anger that you manifest

be removed, weight taken from our chests

and I’m sure others can attest

that, referring to me, and to my survival,

I am truly blessed.
