Chapter 1. Start of a new

First chapter

As I was listening to my ipod, it started smelling like burning wood, I was wondering what had happened

I came down the stairs as prompt as I could; I nearly tripped on the way.
When I got to the living room, my heart stopped for at least 2 seconds.

I couldn’t believe what I was seeing, almost everything engulfed in fire, and I couldn’t breath.

“Stop drop and roll?” I thought franticly

As I franticly looked side to side, nothing was there but fire.

My first instinct was to go upstairs and get my stuff and jump out the window, so I did

I went upstairs, when I saw a yellow gem sitting smug on top of my pillow.

I held it in shock, it turned greenish.

After a good 2 seconds I relaxed and it turned back yellow, I found a jewelry kit next to my cabinet, I made the stone into a necklace and wore it.

I couldn’t help feeling sorry for my two best friends, Sabrina and Joyce, so I wrote them a note.

The paper kept breaking since I had to go as fast as I could; I was getting angry so the gem turned a bright red color.

I finally got it not to brake, so I got my stuff.

After that I jumped out, since the house is short I got out easily.

But I tripped on a branch, but I didn’t fall for some reason, I was in shock.

When I got on the plane I fell asleep instantly.

As I woke up in the dream my faced burned like the sun was inches away from my cheek.

"Ow...!" I shrieked while wincing in pain. "Its okay we are taking you to the hospital" My mom called sounding really worried.

I put my hand on my cheek gently and then looked at my hand...

It was stained with blood.

I really couldn’t stand the smell.

I woke up; staring blankly at the window

That dream happened about 2 years ago, I still don’t know how I got the scar though...

I got my things and walked out the plane door.

My necklace went a gray color and I saw someone trying to grab the necklace as a vision.

"It gives me visions too, am I going to be able to fly or what?!" I thought harshly.

Since I managed to get all the money in the house before it was in flames, I got an apartment.

As I woke up, I felt horrible.

”Ugh I have a fever!?” I thought

”I still have to go to school, I can’t give up” I muttered

I sit down at my new desk, as my teacher introduced me.
Two boys stared at me with shocked expressions, my gem turned Purple.

"Um is there something you need?" I said curiously

"I’m Alex" The brown haired guy said

"And I’m Eric" The purple haired guy said

“I’m Karen” I replied while fiddling with my pencil

I sensed something dark about those two, they didn’t look very ordinary too, the brown haired boy, Alex had dark red eyes, his hair was spiky at all ends, and it was a dark brown color.

His face was surprised, as if he finally found something he’s been looking for.

The purple haired boy, Eric had red eyes too, his hair wasn’t as spiky as Alex’s was, he had light purple flowing hair up to his shoulders, Both of his eyes were shiny with then same expression on his face.

I haven’t noticed that the bell already had rung, their were no students or teachers in the room except me and them, suddenly Alex tried to grab my necklace, franticly I dodged him and tried to run, but they were to fast.

“What’s going on?!” I thought franticly as I was trying to run out of the classroom door.

I ran through the hallways, flying past kids that happened to be by.

Someone grabbed my arm, still struggling to run away, the person pulled me to the side hallway, as the boys ran past it.

My body was frozen, I felt so helpless.

“Um who are you” I gasped, not daring to look behind me.

“Don’t worry I’m one of your allies” the person said in a cheerful voice

The person chuckled at how frightened I was

I took a slight peek and it turned out it was a girl

“Oh calm down, it’s me, Stephanie” The girl said while giggling

I wasn’t frozen anymore, I twirled around and gave her a warm grin, it felt like I can really trust her.

“I’m Karen” I said, trying to be friendly as possible

“Oh I know who you are, I guess you got amnesia, you can’t remember anything can you?” She replied disappointed

“Amnesia?! What does she mean by that?” I thought

“Huh?” I said confused

“Oh nothing I’m just talking to myself sorry” She said while staring blankly at me

“Hmm she’s sort of weird” I thought

“Hmm well we have lunch together want to sit with me?” she asked while having a huge grin

“Sure” I said while fixing my hair, since it got messed up while running.

Stephanie didn’t look ordinary either, but she didn’t have the same dark presence as the other two boys, she had blonde shiny hair, she had little pig tails on the sides, she wore colorful clothing too.

Her eyes were a purple color.

Compared to everyone I looked so plain besides my scar. I sighed; well I shouldn’t expect anything else anyway.

“Wait I have one question” I said as fast as I could

“Huh?” The Stephanie replied

“Well um why were those two boys after me?” I said

“You’ll learn that in time, meet you at lunch” She said, as she disappeared in the hallway.

I slowly strolled to lunch, when I was halfway I saw a huge door on the side of the hallway

It had a strange design too. I went to open it, but I stopped myself.

“That would be impolite” I thought while turning away

“I need to keep my image” I thought

Questions popped in my head like wildfire

“Were does this door lead to?”
