The Fall of Giants

The Fall of Giants

A Poem by linear
"

Somebody told me this was not about giants at all! but it is

"

In tender moments 0f rainbows swirling heat

Butterfly wings and all such foolish things

Tempt the heart to transgress

Pass over the border to that sly temptress

Now inside the chamber beat

In rage

And temper to outreach

A maiden soft and so demure

To cast a spell

At this my door

To laugh is my want

But to fall my disgrace

You know my heart can’t win this race.

know one really knows what they are capapable of until they try, there is hypothisis, there is what we think will happen, I guess life is all about rolling with the punches, but disgrace is a terrible thing to live with, sometimes it does seem hopeless.

Simply beautiful, Linear. You tell so much in so few stanzas...
"To laugh is my want
But to fall my disgrace
You know my heart can't win this race"

I guess to fall in love, is to fall into hopelessness (for we cannot climb out of it), else how else do we keep that burning love in our hearts? Brilliant last stanza to end with! Your poem is delicately written, yet heavy with meaning. You have certainly penned a wonderful verse!
