wasted paths

wasted paths

A Poem by linear

Often I walk down cobwebed ways
Where dust settles
Upon leather shoe

Gossamer thread
That cannot entangle, entangles
Strangles,

Speckled light in darkening night tries
To penetrate
Fails,

So I return
And fool myself
All is well.

Oh I love this -the imagery is powerful from start to finish.
'speckled light in darkening night tries
to penetrate
fails'
Really like these lines. And the last stanza - poignant ending I think we can all relate to at some point in life...
Great poem linear!
