Beyond the Stars

Beyond the Stars

A Poem by michaela

That gold mist that lies inside us all
Escaped as you left this world of ours
When you breathed your last breath
And went back to your home, far beyond the stars.
You left behind your loving mother,
The one who held you close and tight
And tears stream down your daddy's face
When you breathed your last that night.
They know you're in a better place,
But you'll never come back again
Knowing that you'll never smile another smile
Brings an indescribable pain.
On the other side of the twinkling lights,
A beautiful angel enters through the gates
But the world is cold without you here
Your light can never be replaced.
Hearts are broken, beyond repair
Waiting to be healed from the scars
When at last reunited you dance together
Far beyond the stars

Author's Note

michaela
All of my words seem clumsily strewn together today, I can't possibly put how I feel into the words I want to. This poem is written for Connor Bourke, Ethan Jostad, and their families, along with all of the other children who have fallen victim to cancer. I beg anyone who reads this poem to please make a donation to Battle4aCure, or St. Jude's Hospital. These children are robbed of a life far too early, and my heart breaks every time I hear of a life gone so soon. Please keep these children in your thoughts and prayers! Thank you! *sending love to all*
