Masked

Masked

A Poem by Lost in Wonderland

Here I lay while they all sleep,

Writing the secrets no one sees.

I put them out there in plain old sight,

But they don’t care to look

Because my mask is on to tight.

No suspects a tear to shed

On this pillow, on my bed.

This mask is molded onto me

So no one ever really sees

The pain, the fear, the war in my heart

That threatens to rip me, tear me apart!

But no one ever looks,

No one knows to care,

Because my mask is on to tight

For them to know the pain is there.
