Sunset tale

Sunset tale

A Poem by Mintwhiskers

Angels have painted a picture up high

Their brushstrokes are streaks of pure color

pastels look the best up there light beautiful colors frame in clouds

The blue in the backround with pink, orange and purple floating on top

It does it all as the sun sink way down

The city's bustling nature and man made world

That world is filled with gas automotives towers scraping the sky

As the people look in the air they see the pretty sky

It is the best part the best at sunset

The contrast between God's creation and Man's effort, as another reviewer perhaps hinted at, is well brought out in this work. I think of the angels of 'city of angels' flying through the imagery this scene portrays, and then 'falling' for 'Babel' - Man's creation - for the spirit of 'power' which the skyscrapers tempt us with.

Of course, a lot of that is my theology, but your poem, as always in your distinctive style, brings to life themes I can personally relate to and well expresses the beauty of nature as opposed to mankind's (often) dismal efforts.

Well written and enjoyable. I know you don't seem to instinctively think in 'Rhyme' but I wouldn't mind seeing your lyrical content in the more traditional rhyming mode of delivery.

A beautiful juxtaposition between life on earth and the sky. Everything looks so perfect up there, ne? The imagery takes me some place, perhaps in the colorful sunset sky your angels have painted.
