Back Door Sally

Back Door Sally

A Poem by missangell

He keeps me at his back door
Naked, waiting in the rain

Joy Division in my head
The Smith's in my bed

He keeps me waiting
Naked, yet well fed

Leonard Cohen on my lips
All I want is to be kissed

His door is locked
I can't find the key

It's cold at his door
Yet I still stand
waiting for him to hold my hand

If he was to answer my knock
I'd throw at him Johnny Rotten's dirty sock!

This poem is about a man whom at this time is unavailable to me... the musicians (bands) I speak of in this piece must be known by the reader to completely understand the analogy. Johnny Rotten is a wild and unpredictable character from The Sex Pistols (a punk band famously known for the song "Anarchy In The UK") who makes no excuses for who he is.

I love your art of words. My interpretation of this poem is this comes from a view point from a "the other woman" or "friends with benefits" relationship. The door is only open if she is needed. I find it sad she has to come to his door. Great write!

I'm not really sure what was going on here. My best guess says that its a prosession of analogies to music and how it makes you feel. the dirty sock lost me though
But i like the imagery, even though i just didn't understand it! :)

The meaning of this poem escaped me but i did like the writing and choice of words.
