This is very identifiable. When I was a teenager my older sister told me I was 'the strong silent type ' I looked at it as a definite compliment. But being quiet has its challenges too.
Thank you for putting this personality type into words.

I have always been the silent type. People say I am dangerous because I don't speak that much.

Yes, but the quiet ones are a relief and a joy. Constant, pointless chatter exhausts me.

I've known some who are very lonely but are overly chatty or critical. ,
Makes no sense.

it's probably because they have no one to talk to, or they trust the person they are talking to.

The picture of woman in dark coat, head down, hiding her eyes leads the way so very well to your words.. clever choice! You're very right, the loner so often lives behind a shield, yet, the fact she writes or thinks like your poem, shows a person of different moods and thoughts. Even the fun idea of Battleships displays humour and a touch of power!

I find the shield is just an exterior for the heart that is misunderstood and mistreated.

Of course not. 'The Silent Type' writes a few more poetries than others. It is relatable and I just love it.

You capture the essence of loneliness and resignation in the face of societal rejection. Through simple yet powerful language, the poem delves into the speaker's feelings of isolation and disillusionment, highlighting the indifference of others to her struggles. With its rhythmic flow and poignant questioning, the poem resonates with anyone who has felt unseen or misunderstood in a world that often overlooks the quiet voices among us.

Difficult? No. This is very clear to me! Silent types are often this way, but underneath it all there is so much life and interesting traits for those who are willing to stick around a learn. Thanks for sharing a unique piece of YOU!
