Ah, The Past

Ah, The Past

A Poem by Marvin Thomas Cox-Flynn de Graham
"

As Human Beings, we do tend to live within those succulent pages of the past, bad or good, rather than dare to venture into that unknown of the future ...

Ah, the past, the past, we live in the past ...

And, the why thereof --! ... What the hell for --!

Because, the past is filled, with lies of truth,

the truth of lies, of all that is, and once was,

and that which, we so wish, it could've been,

whilst, the future remains, realms unknown,

relegated to, Science Fiction's, adventurous din ...

Great work. We can waste a lot of time worrying about the past.

Thomas,

The past is never to be worried about, but the future is, and it is from the .. read more
The past can not b be changed no matter the amount of time we sit pondering the different outcomes that could have been. It is a futile attempt.

This piece sums up the ideas of leaving the past in the past and the future in the future. Nicely done

You are welcome. I like the way you composed this idea
Some of us live in the past, because the future hurts too much.... I, on the other hand, live for the NOW, I appreciate each day as it arrives, and try to make the most of it.... especially when you're ancient like I am... Many of us fear the future because it is so uncertain...uncomfortably so.....
Thanks for sharing,

You’re very welcome Marve

The past is fiction to me since you can sometimes read it like a book, or if your mind's feeling mischievous, it would change the written narration. And as most lengthy books go, you ought not to revisit and scrutinise its texts, that is, the past moments, and weigh your mind on it for too long. Such endeavour may only lead to further antagonising of your current being and future values. I prefer to let the past rest before I do every night, to loosen my mind of its self-inflicted restrains. That is the sentiment that this poem has invoked within me.
Thank you for sharing your work, author Marvin Thomas Cox-Flynn de Graham, it was a good read. I wish you a nice day.
