Lone Traveler

Lone Traveler

A Poem by Amanda
"

Poem about a person who is in love with someone who isn't ready to love them back.

"

Reflecting on memories of feelings that no longer resonate within my soul.

Feelings of uncertainty and doubtfulness.

Feelings of love.

Oh how badly I wanted to swim in the ocean of your being.

How it glistened softly in the light.

Reflecting the moon ever so perfectly in the night.

Flowing selflessly, I came to realize that the depths of your ocean were impossible to reach.

Your tides were fighting against my current, denying them of their natural flow.

You see, I am a lone traveler.

Curious of paths paved out for me by destiny.

Falling in love with Gods creations along the way.

Most times so focused on what lies ahead, I miss the now.

So here we are...

Together in the dark, cold night.

Wrapped in the warmth of our temporary love.

Until the sun rises and lights the earth, and we separate with barely any hurt.

For we know this is just another lesson.

And more love, is on the way.

This is beautifully painful. Such soft thoughts of hunger for love and a presence that we cannot have. I feel the depth of emotion and it is very raw. Then, then ending "wrapped in the warmth of our temporary love", like a reality knife on the wound of hope.
Nicely penned. I enjoyed it very much.
