Is It Me?

Do you hate me? Is it my fault? Won't you even try...?

Endless songs of pain and woe;

I have sung to last a lifetime.

Sadness comes and happiness goes,

Lasting forever; ending never.

 

Trying times and time again,

I've tried to make it last.

But nothing stays, and we begin...

Once more, forever more, never more.

 

What might I lack? may I ask,

Expecting nothing in return for pain.

Living in twilight, bored unded a mask,

Everything comes and nothing goes...and I am left alone.

[no, I've never actually felt this way...however, I do like to try feeling what the other people might feel in such a situation.]
