Lost Prayer

Lost Prayer

A Poem by New Theory

A prayer,  just one wish
That I had for me, selfish as it may seem.
I prayed to you, sent it to the heavens.

My patience seeming to wear off,
Who do I ask? Why did this happen?
All around me akin to silence.
For that one moment of happiness,
Where do I search?

Don't know how the sands,
kept slipping through my hands.
Can't fathom what other sadness
lay in front of me.
Life losing it's meaning.

Alone in search of that wish.
that I had sent to heavens.
Must haven't reached high enough
Falling somewhere I know not of.
If you find it, do find me.
And if you do, Would you help me.
To send it above to the creator?

this is wonderful, as though I could have written it myself, a very creative, yet relatable piece, I admire the words you have written, prayers unanswered, life's meaning... we are constantly searching for something more, for answers we may never find... A very thought provoking write!

Thank you Miles :), you are too kind :)
This is a great piece of writing, something that resonates with me on a lot of levels. One suggestion: change 'loosing' to 'losing', the words have quite different meanings. Fantastic effort, all in all! :)

Sounds akin to the thoughts I harbored during my deconversion, interesting. I liked the way you presented this, as doubts yet pleading for somebody to lift up your words to a deity just to know for certain someone was listening. Well done.

Thank you Manuel :) .
It reminds me of a line in my favorite song.
"Thousands of prayers return to the earth
But I will keep praying."

This speaks of disappointment and wonder.
Wishing and hoping only to find it not to happen.
Well played. ^^

You're welcome, and good day to you. ^^
I like the thought of a bureaucracy in heaven. All those prayers, does someone categorize them and perhaps triage them before kicking them upstairs. Sometimes the wait for an answer is eternal.
