Speechless

had an urge to write and i couldn't find the words and so a wrote about not being able to find them.

Cant seem to get the words out 

Where have they gone? 

Have i failed as a writer?

No longer can I speak the language of the written word.

Seems so distance from the talent that once was so bright.

Words poured out of a never ending soul,

Looks as though the soul has dried up.

Words cant explain the loss of words I have.

Even writing this poem I am at a loss.

I have hit a block in my road.

The finish line i have crossed.

Cant seem to get the words out

Where have they gone?

Have I failed as a writer?

No feelings, emotions or otherwise.

No more, No less or in between.

Dried up and washed out.

Will I ever find those words I so desperately need?

This too shall pass Amanda. For having no words, you found the right words, which takes skill. I can relate though, when they are there, they are there and when theyt aren't they aren't. Words are something we have to let happen, can't make them happen. Have a great day!!

I can relate to what you're saying so much. it really hurts to know that you're an avid writer and yet you can't think of anything to write about. the feelings in this poem are so strong, great job =)

Amazing... I started to tremble just after reading the first line. It really connects to when I want to say something but it won't come out. Hope you find your words soon; If you get them out too late you'll never be able to say it again!

Hard when you can't write. I try not to force words out. There are times when we can't write. If I desire to create. Some good music of the Poet's of music can make me think and write. A Cohen, Dylan or a Johnny Cash can open up thoughts. The words will return. Just need a reason to write. A excellent poem. Made me think tonight.

You just did.. There are so many times we feel blocked and unable but it's not really a block it's a change inside that secret place that makes the words fly from ink to paper... It may not be your usual but it's you and you let it flow..
