Goddess of the fight

Goddess of the fight

A Poem by MandaBear
"

just something i made up before i went to work. Tell me if you Love or Hate it???

"
Spears, Knifes and Cannons
When battle cries are plenty
Warriors prepare for war,
For the battle ahead.

Kings prepare for the war at hand
They pray to Athena for a blessing.
Hoping that the sacrifice they make
Grant them a victory in combat.

Going up against a worthy foe.
With weapons at their toes.
Running toward an uncertain fate.
Hoping just by chance they win.

Bloody bodies comes in masses.
The death toll rises by the minute.
Yet, sprites are high between me and you.
So, what would Athena do?

As the battle goes on,
There is a light of mystical proportions.
Athena is here, Athena is here they shout.
Ready fight the enemies fighting about.

Clash, Clink, Crash and bang.
Is the only sounds you here.
Soon enough you see a white flag appear.
The traitors have fought their last fight.

So the troops later that night
Thanked Athena with all their might
For now they can sleep at ease tonight.
The conquers have met their match.

a touch of 'Homer' here. very interesting, the way warriors will call upon the gods and goddesses in these situations. You wrote this before going to work...intriguing! Thankyou.
