Girl that knows

Girl that knows

A Poem by MandaBear
"

This is my poem for my writing friend Follow the Phoenix. I hope you like it and i hope she likes it :) by the way that picture i used is her in case you are wondering.

"
A girl knows her place in the world yet chooses to follow her own path.
Looking at her pocket watch “Tick, Tock”
Watching the hours and minutes go by.
Following her heart every second of the way.
Her hearts leads her to a old piano.
Every note just poring out as she plays.
The music emanates from the old piano,
Like a painting of the wind.
This girl knows her place yet forges on ahead
She’s like a wolf watching her pray.
Ready to pounce with all her might
Ready for anything that comes her way.
Walking through the forest looking at all the flowers.
Running through gardens following her own path.
Coming up to cross roads in life
Having to choose which she loves more.
What will she choose?
The mechanics of the pocket watch or the piano?
Will she choose the wonders of the forest, the flowers or the garden?
Will she pick another path entirely?
This girl knows her place yet she has comes to a defining moment.
She must choose between her loves or go another way.
She looks deep inside her spiritual self
And sees a phoenix showing her the way.
Finally our girl knows what she must do
She says will all her might
I must follow my dream and
Follow the order of the Phoenix.

"like a painting of the wind". Wow the imagery in this is amazing! I really like your writing style and found this to be an interesting read. Thank you for sharing :)

... interesting, i loved the way even explaining everything you still manage to makes it look a little misterious, also interesting the passage (made from the forth stanza-fifth stanza gap) from a hypothetical girl to Follow the phoenix, of course you were talking about her from the beginning but if we don't read the description we don't find it out before the fifth stanza, also you've used a lot of figures of speech in a very nice way making them fit with the poem, for example i loved the synesthesia in verses 7-8,
a great job, we can see you worked hard on it :)

"I must follow my dream and
Follow the order of the Phoenix."
I do like this poem. I taught my daughters. They are as good and have the same opportunity as anyone else.
What will she choose?
'The mechanics of the pocket watch or the piano?
Will she choose the wonders of the forest, the flowers or the garden?
Will she pick another path entirely?"
A very good ending to the excellent poem.
