Lone Star

Lone Star

A Poem by James Takeo Panton
"

For Kris...

"

Lone stars seem further
Than my hands can reach high
They hang in dark ceilings
Beyond the blue sky
I try to catch on to them
They yield from my touch
They shine down so brightly
To me, they mean so much
When dark clouds come covering
And block them from sight
And now lose their twinkle
In darkness of night
I know they reside there
Way up in the skies
I still can reach upward
I will now still try
To catch this one lone star
And bring it to me
And in my heart keep it
For eternity
