A Lonely man

Alone was he conceived,

For he was not a twin.

Alone did he win:

And all his rewards received.

He lived in a mansion wing,

And often used to sing-

        " In this lonely world we go,

To where we do not know.

Amidst the hurt and pain,

In this world of bane,

Can my heart not dare

To hope for a little care? "

Cause lonely was he all his life:

For he had not a wife.

With nothing was he brought to life;

But was sent to death with a knife.

Loneliness can hurt so much that we would like to think it would be better if we weren't alive. A very powerful poem that a lot of people can relate to in some way. In reality loneliness can consume us into someone that no one really cares to be around. Perhaps if he held on to a little hope his life would of changed. Thats what I would like to think anyway.

yep - perhaps it would have if he lived a little longer - but any chance of hoping was smothered by an unnatural death.

Nicely done... the poems speaks so much and the concept of "No man's an island" was really stressed here... humans are social creatures and for him to go through life -despite all the victories and riches gained - all alone must has been too much at the end... a very good poem and such a nice read. Good job. ^_^
