Cursed memories

Cursed memories

A Poem by The Dreamer

Sometimes memory is a curse,

Reminding when we'd rather forget.

Breaking the walls of amnesia,

Faded pictures, becoming darker,

Bringing to life - images of hurt and pain.

Running like a reel,

A movie playing in our head.

Every image a dagger

Plunging in our heart,

Making it bleed.

No stopping or pausing,

 - It plays till its done...

The reel comes to an end,

Images fading slowly,

Growing evanescent, for now:

Leaving our hearts broken,

Into tiny fragments - again.

Ah yes, painful memories do come and go... the can be forgotten but only temporarily... only when they do come back, they strike you with pain... a different kind, but still painful. Such a nice read. ^_^
