Alive Again

Alive Again

A Poem by Daydreamer

There's no way this is not insane
right here's the past me alive again
this is the time I bid you farewell
but before we do,
Remind me of back then,
and let's be
Let's be who we were
before we started to learn

Weird how I overlooked all I've been
everything has happened the way I needed,
yet, I never turned to look back again

It's about time
I paused to celebrate
- I owe myself so much gone invain

I know I now have a path,
but I need a free soul again

~ Sick of the abyss ~
and all it contains;
pressured by slipping time n'
worn out thoughts, so plain

Step me the hell out of this,
so I can embrace every gain

but before we do,
I thank your dreams
that stang away the pain

This air brings me back
to our talks when we'd be scared

I'll never forget to reminisce our prayers,
I still hear our overlapped words
about how bad we wanted,
 to celebrate the world

I still think of the best
things you'd say..
every tint of truth,
every read wordplay

I bid you farewell,right now;
right after I've found you again..
but I remember, you'd always say:

"because we're headed for
what's good, anyway
the bad we go through
is the price we have to pay"

(the past me alive again) means it feels like her past self, and not that she feels alive..

This was like one having a talk with oneself. I liked the concept. The past is to be remembered, not too much but like just enough. When I look back, I feel I was more alive back then. But then again, as it is said: we look at the past in a way making it better than it was , and at the present worse than it is. So be who you are today! Also, there are many lovely lines in this poem but I love the last stanza best..

We have to remember life's lessons and the past is to be remembered but not haunting...wise and fruitful...we live and learn, so it is said, albeit sometimes the storms that shape us are chaotic :)

Before I read Rana's review, I knew I also liked that last stanza best of all. But the entire poem is a statement about a profound truth of life. Excellent!
