Another Soul Died Today... Breaks My Heart...

Another poor soul has lost his life today again

this very day.

They died alone on some City Street surrounded

by luxury flats

all around him right close by.

And this is an actual fact

in my local newspaper online.

And did anyone see or even care.

Did they heck as like.

My heart bleeds for this human being

who suffered a terrible fate.

Living on a bitterly cold winter street

and died

simply because he had nothing.

How would you like that to happen to you?

Not everyone, who is homeless is a cheat or a fraud.

Most are genuine and just down on their luck

And don't want to beg or ask for a helping hand.

Imagine if it was You?

Who lost everything you owned.

Including your nice home and job.

And we're living in their exact same situation

and place on some dirty street.

Spare a thought and some kindness

and actually, show you care.

Instead of just walking past.

With your nose

held high in the air.

And not even giving two  F.......ks

if they lived or died.

They are, human beings  just like you

and I.

But then again.

Do you have a heart

as I do, I care.

Dear Dawn, it us a national scandal that there are so many people living on the streets. Whatever the reason, and there are many and I don't care whether it is as a result of substance misuse, everyone needs a roof over their heads. We call ourselves a civilised society, I think not, as long as this is going on. This poor soul deserved much better.

This is amazing heart warming poem.
I remember the incident when I was celebrating my friends bday and some god children without clothes approached us and ask to eat that cake which we wasted on our friends mouth. And we take them to restro and paid for their food.
A small act of caring can bring a smile on someone's face.

I remember my times on the street. Moving from a little spot after watching a black widow drift down on a web. Go to work, and nobody knows.

Exactly Jon, nobody knows, their life story. It's so sad and upsetting in this modern age. That this still happens people on the street freezing to death. While others get fat and presents in their nice warm homes. Dawn.

I still remember being stopped by campus police. Early in the morning, and I had messed up on the timing. Sitting outside reading a book, and asked what I was doing there. Questions stopped when I was able to open the door. Didn't even have to show him the schedule!

Winter is here. Here in Detroit. They try to have enough shelters. Hard life for many. We spend 1.2 trillion on war and little on hunger. A sad world we live-in dear Dawn.

No one sets out with the intention of being homeless... what we see on the streets is only the very tip of the iceberg... I am glad you wrote this Dawn..

In some newspapers here they make out most are scammers and fakers who use begging as a tool to make easy money is homeless folk and that is so unfair as they are not like that any I have ever helped at all.
