Luke Warm

A Poem by Love's Merciless.

You don’t look at me the same,

the first time you looked at me,

your eyes ignited with infatuation.

Seeking me, an excuse to break away.

At that precise moment

I felt my heart battle within me:

battling from the blaze you ignited,

blood sweltering. Addiction setting in

Feeling my heart contest

Staring into these familiar eyes of crystallized blue,

Heart race slowing to a halt,

our sensations begin to run cold, BUT

I’m still staring into these eyes of crystallized blue,

waiting for our past emotions to boil through,

searching.

Seeking a longing that used to be easy to find.

Waiting on that past emotion.

Staring into the eyes of a stranger,

eyes that refuse to  ignite.  This used to be easy.

But then again, you don’t look at me the same.

The poem flowed like music. The words movement and story is very good.. When love turn sour. Heart know the pain first. I like the desire to ignite the hunger and the desire of the past. A excellent ending to a powerful poem. Thank you for sharing.
