Tracks Spark in the Distance

Tracks Spark in the Distance

A Poem by Love's Merciless.

Amber smoke rises up into the heavens

Plaguing the air like millions of Mormon crickets

Train of pearl, edged in black

Sparks fly as the tires hit the tracks

Sun streams through windows of black

Shimmering gold in the space between them

Her hands blister at his touch

His eyes glitter at her pain

Morbid attraction that both take in vain

Ribbons of color coat her skin layer by layer

Faking a laugh, holding back her screams

Sweetest fantasy to strike like a poisonous snake

Begging to coil around him until breath stops

Squeezing until his heartbeat becomes faint

But the corners of her mouth rise

Her hand gently strokes his

Masking the burn

She wants to stand against the abuse

But she just sits weak in her throne

Unable to capture the darkness

Before it has a chance to come undone

I like the feel of darkness in the poem. Can't stop the desire even with pain as the final result. Complete poem had many hidden stories hidden in the words. A outstanding poem. I like these type poem. Allow the mind to think and wonder.
