More Than a Contradiction

More Than a Contradiction

More Than a Contradiction

Broken promises, wonderful lies,

Why didn’t I see them in your eyes?

What happened to ‘you and only you?’

Was your ‘I love you’ also untrue?

You swore we’d always be together,

That we would tie the knot forever.

But I guess forever is just a word,

T’was a line from theater of the absurd.

Apparently, a s**t opened my eyes.

I confronted you and your disguise.

But what you said hit me to the gut,

You said you love me, but also that s**t.

I know I can’t be everything you want,

She has some things that you want to flaunt.

Complimentary more than contradiction,

Me plus her equals your lovely addiction.

But still, there’s a reason why we only have one heart for affection,

And that is to love and accept one person despite the imperfection.

So... Can we love more than one person at one time? Yeah, I think so. I read it somewhere that being in love with two people is more of complimentary than contradiction. What do you think? :))

This is gorgeous! Such an amazing poetry! I love how you changed the writing style to accentuate some of the words!

In my personal opinion, no you can't love more then one person at a time, one will always be a stronger feeling then the other. Usually the second, coz consider this: If you loved the first person so much, why did you fall for the second?
Great read :)
