Let Me In

Let Me In

A Poem by parker

I want to see myself the way that you see me.
I'll close my eyes and look through yours.

Because you look at me and your face changes.
Suddenly the lines disappear and your smile is easy.
I want to know the thoughts you keep to yourself,
know what is going on behind your smiling eyes.

Because your words are kind and you are always cool
but I wonder if inside, like me, you hopelessly search
for a way to express what you're thinking.

If you could see yourself the way that I see you,
you'd never doubt yourself again.
And if you could know the thoughts that I try to disguise
you would know that all I want is to lay with you beneath the stars,
just you and I forever.
