Some Mountains

Some Mountains

A Poem by parker

Happy Valentine's Day
and my valentine will sing
with all his heart and all his lungs
love can beat anything.
And I will shake my head and sigh,
love cannot win this war.
Some mountains rise too high and hard-
We've been through this before.
And so I'll leave my lover,
and he'll wish me to go,
because of months of heartaches
I've dealt him blow by blow.
I've pushed him and I've pressed him
to make him understand
there's more than love that goes into
us walking hand in hand.
But though my mind has led me
to tell my love goodbye,
my heart tells me with every breath
my words have been a lie.
So Happy Valentine's Day.
And my valentine's love song
will reach a soul that loves him still
but can't admit it's wrong.
